PETS delayed to March 8.
It is hard to believe we are now in the winter season with snow and frigid temperatures impacting the Rotary Districts served by Lone Star PETS, bringing with them the continued power blackouts, water issues, and damage to homes.
I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that the health and safety of our attendees is our first priority and a responsibility that we take very seriously. The decision whether or not to reschedule during periods of inclement weather is based upon a careful analysis of all relevant factors. That being said, there are occasions when, due to extreme conditions, the safety interests of our attendees, especially those experiencing lack of power and clean water shortages, are best served by moving the date of Lone Star PETS.
Your District Governors-Elect met this morning and determined that it is best to reschedule our 2021 PETS to March 8- March 13, 2021. We are still virtual, and we will follow the same agenda that we have already published. An updated schedule will be on the website by tomorrow with the new dates. Registration will remain open through 6 PM on March 4, 2021. Please refer to the Lone Star PETS website for the most current information regarding any other changes.
The decision to reschedule the date was made in the best interest of our attendees who are facing may challenge with the weather. This is the first time that we've had a significant disaster that impacted such a large area, in the winter. As such, we are encouraging you to reach out to your Rotary family to check see if any of them are in need of assistance, or are able to offer assistance if needed, as this weather event continues to unfold.
