Several members of the Rotary Club of Galveston were recognized at a recent  meeting for their generous financial contributions to their club.  Each member pictured was honored either with a higher category recognition as a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, or for special recognition as a VIT member (Fifth in Texas) of the club's Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc. Rotarian Mary Lou Hollender was recognized at a recent Rotary Club of Galveston meeting for her service as a Board Member, 2018-2020,  and Roland Bassett (far right) was recognized for his service as a trustee of the club's Galveston Rotary Foundation, Inc. Club President, Mike Guarino presented their certificates of appreciation.

Past President Kristen Carlson (left) was honored recently as the Rotary Club of Galveston's 2020 recipient of the District 5910 "Roll of Fame" award - in recognition of her dedicated service and commitment to the ideals of Rotary.  President, Mike Guarino presented the award. 
Club member April Michalski  presented the program at the Rotary Club of Galveston's May 5th meeting at Fisherman's Wharf.  Her topic was a very poignant discussion of suicide - as she lost her brother to suicide in 2018. April discussed not only how to recognize and to get help for those who need treatment - including herself - but how vital the need is for more services and better programs to aid those struggling with mental illness. 
Club member David Bowers (left) was recognized recently for his 30-year membership and service in the Rotary Club of Galveston.  President Mike Guarino presented Bowers with his certificate. 
Rotarian Ray Pinard (right), representing Galveston Island Meals-On-Wheels, recently presented the Rotary Club of Galveston with the prestigious Isaiah Bright Award in grateful appreciation for the Club's long-time, generous financial support of Galveston Island Meals-On-Wheels. The Rotary Club of Galveston participated in the recent 25th Annual Grand Kids Festival, May 1st.  Distributing 400 bicycle helmets to children/youth attending the Festival were (from left), Tom Delgado, Judy Johnson, Don Nurdin, Bill Clement, and Club Executive Secretary, Ulli Budelmann.  Participating, but not pictured, were Ruth Suhler, Barbara Sanderson, Billie Rinaldi, Bets Anderson, Cris Cristan, and President-Elect, Mary Brechtel.
