The past few months the College Station Rotary Club has not let COVID get in the way of serving our community.  A special thanks to Dana Rowse and Jabot' Colvin for thinking outside the box and making our annual Florence Nightingale Awards and Clothing for Kids event happen.

On November 19th, the CS Rotary Club awarded 6 CNAs with a plaque and $500 in cash to thank them for their service to our community.  Traditionally, we have the recipients come to our in-person meeting.  However, since we are not meeting in person yet, we were able to safely socially distance and present their awards in person at their workplace.  It was exciting and fun!

On December 5th, 2020, the College Station Rotary Club hosted the annual Clothing for Kids event.  Since its inception in 1990, approximately 2,000 Brazos Valley children have received warm winter clothing sponsored by the College Station Rotary Club’s Clothing For Kids event.  We were truly honored to continue this tradition this year and gift 70 kids with a virtual $150.00 shopping spree at the College Station Target.  This year's event honored several organizations that are dedicated to the community such as Family Promise, Project Unity, and others.

To promote social distancing, the event was conducted as a “curbside pickup”. Nominated families from the organizations drove through and received special gifts derived from a wish list of clothing items from Target in College Station.

We also want to give a special thank you to Outback Steak House in College Station for providing breakfast tacos and “Books and a Blanket” for providing special gifts to each of the children at the event.
