This week's program featured inspiring talks by the Bryan Rotary Club’s scholarship recipients. Our Club is awarding $3,000 scholarships to each of the following students:
Garrett Avery of Bryan High School, who will be attending Texas A&M University
Cade Conrad of Bryan High School, who will be attending Texas A&M University
Riley Foster of Bryan Collegiate High School, who will be attending University of Texas
Audrey Vestal of Bryan High School, who will be attending Texas A&M University

Judge Albert Navarro was inducted as our newest member by Rotarian, Judge John Delaney.
Since June 1, 2015, Judge Navarro has been serving as the Presiding Judge for the Bryan Municipal Court.
Weekly Hybrid Meeting - May 19th.
Inspiring story by Nurse Sarah Sicilio Cargill of Bryan. Sarah is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center.
Sarah volunteered for a trip to Nairobi, Kenya to provide medical care for an infant of a missionary family who needed intensive care to return to the US. A truly remarkable example of “Service Above Self.”
Weekly Hybrid Meeting & Red Cross Blood Drive - May 12.
Inspiring guest speaker Amber Reed - the Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott and White Health College Station Region, which includes College Station and Brenham.
“Amber is passionate about patient centered care delivery and the transitions of patient care throughout the care continuum. She strongly believes in the nurse’s role of educating patients and families on healthcare options as they move between care settings.”

Bryan Rotary Weekly Hybrid Meeting - May 5th
Important talk by the Reverend Ramiro Castillo on the challenges of COVID-19 and providing hospital spiritual care.
 
He has served in the role of Pastor at Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Bryan for 27 years and as part of the Spiritual Care team at Baylor Scott & White Hospital - College Station since 2013.
Bryan Rotary Club Weekly Hybrid Meeting - April 28.
 
Annual Club grants were awarded this year to 12 Bryan teachers. Funding supported innovative teaching methods for student development and learning during the pandemic. The teachers’ projects and presentations were informative, creative and inspiring.
Thanks to Rotarian Crystal Dupre and the Grant Committee for coordinating the grant program and the teacher presentations.
 
Thanks also to Rotarian, and Bryan Mayor, Andrew Nelson for expressing his and our Club’s gratitude to the teachers. Their dedication to enhancing education, while performing under the stress and uncertainty of the COVID 19 pandemic, is a true example of “Service Above Self.”
